Remodeling has a reputation for being chaotic. We believe that’s because most contractors start swinging hammers before they finish thinking.
At Straub Fine Finishes, we do things differently. We front-load the planning, the design, and the budgeting so that the actual “construction” part is boringly predictable. We like boring. Boring means on-time and on-budget.
Here is exactly what happens when you work with us.
Phase 1
The No-Pressure Conversation
The Goal: To see if we are a good fit for each other.
We start with a simple site visit. We’ll come by, listen to what you want to achieve, and take a look at the space.
What we discuss: Your goals, your timeline, and your budget.
What we don’t do: High-pressure sales tactics. If your project involves moving load-bearing walls or major structural changes, we’ll be honest and tell you that’s not our lane. We’d rather lose a job than overpromise on one.
Phase 2
The Verified-Vision™ Design
The Goal: To build it virtually before we build it physically.
This is where the magic happens. We take measurements and fire up our Chief Architect 3D modeling software.
The Visualization: We create a 3D model of your new space. We can change cabinet colors, swap tile patterns, and adjust layouts in real-time. We’ll tour the room together in 3D from every angle so you can see exactly what the finished room will look like.
The Quote: Once the design is locked, Faye puts on her Project Management hat. We build a detailed scope of work, a timeline, and a Fixed-Price Quote. Not an estimate. A price. You will know exactly what the project costs down to the penny.
We Collect a Deposit: We collect deposit to move forward with ordering materials and start the project.
pHASE 3
The “Pre-Game” Logistics
The Goal: To ensure we don’t get stuck waiting for parts.
We don’t start demolition the day you sign the contract. Why? Because tearing up your kitchen and then waiting 6 weeks for cabinets is a nightmare. We have contractor accounts with local and national suppliers. We negotiate for you every step of the way.
We Negotiate Pricing & Delivery Guarantees: We negotiate pricing discounts & delivery guarantees for your project so there are no surprises.
We Order All of Your Custom Materials: We procure the cabinets, fixtures, and flooring with guaranteed delivery timing before we swing a hammer.
We Schedule the Slot: We lock in your “Sole Focus” window on our calendar. Typically we schedule about 5-6 weeks out to get everything coordinated for the same work window.
PHASE 4
The Build (The Sole Focus Promise)
The Goal: To get in, do amazing work, and get out.
This is the part our clients love the most. Because we work on One Project at a Time, we are there every single day.
The Crew: You’ll see the same 1-3 friendly faces every morning. No parade of random subcontractors. You get our team, plus our trusted, licensed trade partners only when necessary.
The Site: We treat your home like a home, not a construction zone. We use dust barriers, we protect your floors, and we clean up daily.
The Updates: You won’t have to chase us for info. We’ll chat daily about progress and next steps.
Phase 5
The Handshake & The Paperwork
The Goal: A flawless finish and clean books.
We don’t just finish the work; we finish the administration.
The Walkthrough: We walk the space together to ensure every detail meets the “Straub Standard.”
The Financials: You get a final packet with all lien waivers signed and delivered. You have zero liability, and you have the peace of mind knowing every supplier has been paid.
A Note on “The Unexpected”
In remodeling, sometimes you open a wall and find a surprise (like a pipe that shouldn’t be there).
Our Promise: If we find a surprise, we stop and talk to you immediately. We present the problem and the cost to fix it before we proceed. Because we value transparency, you are never billed for something you didn’t approve.
